The timing of consuming a license is changed for ActiveImage Protector 2022 and later.

ActiveImage Protector Server
The license is consumed when the agent-based / agentless backup task is created.
You can change the backup method by deleting the backup task.

ActiveImage Protector Desktop
The product license is consumed when the installed product is activated.

ActiveImage Protector Linux , Server / Linux included in vPack
The product license is consumed when the installed product is activated.
