Restrictions in backing up virtual machines connected to physical disk (pass-through disk) and configured on Hyper-V

Summary

HyperAgent, agentless backup feature built in ActiveImage Protector for Hyper-V Enterprise and ActiveImage Protector Virtual Edition, does not support backup of virtual machines connected to pass-through disk. The restriction is caused because Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) does not create snapshot of pass-through disk in backup process.
Before backing up the virtual machine connected to pass-through disk, please install ActiveImage Protector (agent-based) on the virtual machine and run backup task.
