Summary
When manually starting AIP service on RHEL8.x/RHEL8.x clone OS by executing conventional boot command, the processed is stopped during logoff attempts and the service stops.
Causes
When manually starting AIP service on RHEL8.x/RHEL8.x clone OS from a terminal, the terminal represents the parent process and AIP service represents the child process. Therefore, when logging off, the terminal closes and, as a result, the AIP service ends.
Workaround
– When AIP 2018 Linux Update 7 or earlier is installed on RHEL8.x/RHEL8.x clone OS
Please upgrade to AIP 2018 Linux Update 8.
– AIP 2018 Linux Update 8
Please use the following command to manually restart / stop the service.
# systemctl stop aipservice
# systemctl start aipservice
